KOMEN
In 1982 Nancy G. Brinker founded the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in the USA in memory of her sister, who died of breast cancer at 36 years of age. Nancy had promised her dying sister to work tirelessly towards eliminating breast cancer for good. The foundation now goes by the name Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, or colloquially simply Komen.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure® is the world’s largest network of cancer survivors and activists, with more than 100,000 volunteers working locally and arranging events to banish this life-threatening disease forever.
Susan G. Komen for the Cure® works with various partners and sponsors to raise awareness of the disease and how it can be treated.
Over the years, Susan G. Komen for the Cure® has invested more than one billion dollars in breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment, making it the undisputed global leader in the breast cancer movement.
